I used to believe that all religions are the same. All religions teach people to do good deeds, and by doing the good deeds, I can go to heaven. Many people think that as long as they follow the rules and requirements of the religions to be a good person, do good deeds and help people, they will go to heaven. I still agree that religions teach a person to be a good person. But one day I learnt that Jesus is the only way for Salvation.
Jesus answered “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". John 14:6
Being a good person is not enough for salvation. Our definition of good and righteous are different to God's definition of good and righteous. We define our own 'righteousness' standard to make us good in our own eyes. But God's standard of righteousness is so holy that no men would ever satisfy His definition of righteousness.
Friends, know that Jesus loves you so much. Even if you are not a Christian, even if you have not heard about Jesus, know that Jesus already loves you.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God wants all people to be saved and to know the whole truth which is, there is only one God,
and Christ Jesus is the only one who can bring us to God. 1 Tim 2:4-5
And you only need to do these three steps in order to be saved.
Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
1. Hear
In order to know about this truth, you must hear about who Jesus is or perhaps read about what Jesus has done. Hallelujah, if your first encounter with this truth is through this blog.
2. Speak
You need to declare with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord, the only God for you.
3. Believe
You have to believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. Now this third step, believe, is very special. It is the key to salvation. You can declare with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord", but if you don't believe it, you haven't done all the three steps that are required in order to saved. Believe is genuine. You cannot lie to yourself and say you believe. You have to believe based on these words, that's why it is called Faith. So you need to truly believe in Jesus. When you believe in Jesus, you need to also believe everything about Jesus that He has died for you. 2 Cor 5:21 says that "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God". And God has raised Him from the dead.
These are the three steps for salvation.
This is confirmed in Romans 10:10 where it says "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved".
If you're reading this and you already go to church every week, read bible everyday, serve in church, or even baptised, it does not guarantee that you are saved. The big question is have you done these three steps?
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.
Know that, we cannot do anything to earn Salvation. Our performance in church or how good we are to other people does not determine our salvation. It is a gift of God. It is something that God readily offer to us. And the only way is through faith. That faith is the faith to believe in Jesus.
So accept this free gift of God today. You have heard about Jesus just know. Now, you only need to Confess and Believe in Jesus.
Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
Even more, once you have done these three steps, not only it will guarantee your entry ticket to the Kingdom of Heaven, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God" Luke 1:35.
To accept Christ into your life, say this prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love for me, for sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross for all my sins. You raised Him from the dead. I confess Jesus is my lord. Thank you that I'm saved by Your grace. I thank You all my sins are forgiven. I’m righteous by the blood. I’m under God’s favor. And I thank You Father that surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life from this day forth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
